Weed control in sugarcane crop is essential for economical sugarcane production. Weeds can reduce sugarcane yields by competing for moisture, nutrients, and light during the growing season. Resistance in sugarcane to glyphosate is greater in taller plants. The most important thing we did here is that we have applied the herbicides after the 4 months of sugar cane plantation. The main benefit was the sugarcane is resistance to the adverse effect of the herbicides from this stage. Observations according to the table2 were, Effect of post emergence herbicides on dry weight of weeds shown that 38.8g/m2 was better effect on the weeds to control as compare to the control 105m2. 2,4-D sodium salt application shown the effect 65.9 g/m2 and Metribuzin 61.2g/m2 whereas Paraquat 83.3g/m2. We also noted from the previous studies that, the herbicides like glyphosate are adverse effect on the yields of sugarcane when applied in early stage of sugarcane means of before 90 days after planting. As per present study Glyphosate gave better weed control results than others. Conclusion: Our study analysed that the glyphosate is effective on control of weeds in sugarcane crop. Glyphosate herbicide is may be used for efficient control of the weed in sugarcane.
